The thick, highly rigid inserts (6 corners on double sides)
and the highly rigid G-Body body are
firmly clamped together in a wedge-shape.

It also excels in ramping and pocket milling,
and enables high feed machining
with L/D=6 or more.

What is the difference between PM insert and a PL insert?

A

The PM type is used for high depth of cut with a maximum depth of cut of up to 3 mm.
It is the first recommended for flat surface machining or when you want to increase the amount of chip evacuation.
The PL type has a maximum ap of 2 mm,
but is perfect for machining with a long overhang length, pocket machining, and machining materials with about 40 HRC.
